Meta (formerly known as Facebook), recently launched Horizon Worlds, a first-of-its-kind social virtual reality platform. Their mission is to make virtual reality a shared experience, not just an isolating one. What do I need to enter Horizon Worlds?
Even though Horizons World is free, It has a few restrictions, so unlike other Meta apps and products, you can't immediately dive in.
Finding the ideal virtual reality headset is the first step into Horizon Worlds. Most people agree that the ideal way to use Horizon Worlds is through the Oculus Quest.
This is mainly because Meta creates both Horizon Worlds and Oculus Quest. You can find one on Amazon or purchase it directly from the Oculus website. Note that as of January 13, 2022, Horizon Worlds will no longer be supported on Quest 1 so purchasing Quest 2 is your best bet.
Then you must be 18 years or older and a resident of the United States, Canada, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland or Iceland to gain access to Horizons World.
You'll also need to have a Facebook account which is a requirement to use Oculus devices.
Once you meet these requirements, you can download the Horizon Worlds app for free on Quest 2 and experience the virtual world!

Creating and Selling Virtual Items: There is a unique commerce tab available in the Horizon Worlds Create Mode. You can create virtual goods and sell them to other users of Horizon Worlds using this and other in-system tools.
Meta's Creator Accelerator Program: Many of the program's specifics are kept secret by Meta. However, participants in the accelerator program claim that the overall reward is determined by how well-liked the worlds you create are. Higher earnings results from having more visitors to your world. An unnamed developer who participated in the scheme disclosed that his highest monthly income was $6,200.
Community Competitions: Meta hosts community contests with cash prizes of $10,000. This comes as part of a $10 million competition and accelerator fund called Horizon Creator.
